dc.descriptionThe crabs are benthic organisms that belong to the family Portunidae, live in shallow estuarine or marine waters and are part of the riparian fisheries of several countries (Ruiz et al., 1985). These crustaceans decapods are wider than long shell and the last pair of legs called pleopods, are adapted to swim since the last two segments (propodio and dactyl) are flattened. They also present light Heterochelia and fourteen triangular frontal teeth, characteristic that the distinguishes from other species.es_ES
dc.description.abstractLas jaibas son organismos bentónicos que pertenecen a la familia Portunidae, viven en aguas estuarinas o marinas someras y forman parte de las pesquerías ribereñas de varios países (Ruiz et al, 1985). Estos crustáceos decápodos son de caparazón más ancho que largo y el último par de patas llamadas pleópodos, están adaptadas para nadar ya que los dos últimos segmentos (propodio y dactilo) son aplanados. Además presentan ligera heteroquelia y catorce dientes triangulares frontales, característica que los distingue de otras especies.es_ES
