dc.descriptionThe objective of this investigation was to compare different diluents for the cryopreservation of porcine semen evaluating its spermatic quality and thermoresistance. Motility, live / dead sperm, normal / abnormal sperm and acrosomal integrity in fresh and thawed semen were evaluated. To determine the thermoresistance, the motility of the frozen semen was evaluated in the different diluents. The study was conducted in the laboratory of Biotechnology of Animal Reproduction of the Academic Unit of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics of the Autonomous University of Nayarit. The semen was extracted from a Pietrain-Yorkshire stallion of 2.5 years of age, the milking frequency of the stallion was weekly, the extractions were carried out during the months of March to December 2007. For the freezing of the semen, four were used treatments (diluents) (T1: Thilmant, T2: Westendorf modified, T3: Trealose with glycerol and T4: Trealose without glycerol), each was subdivided into two fractions; A (cooling thinner) and B (freezing thinner).es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de esta investigación fue comparar diferentes diluyentes para la criopreservación de semen porcino evaluando su calidad espermática y termorresistencia. Se evaluó la motilidad, espermatozoides vivos/muertos, espermatozoides normales/anormales e integridad acrosomal en el semen fresco y descongelado. Para determinar la termorresistencia se evaluó la motilidad del semen congelado en los diferentes diluyentes. El estudio se realizó en el laboratorio de Biotecnología de Reproducción Animal de la Unidad Académica de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit. La extracción del semen se realizó de un semental Pietrain-Yorkshire de 2.5 anos de edad, la frecuencia de ordeña del semental fue semanal, las extracciones se realizaron durante los meses de marzo a diciembre de 2007. Para el congelamiento del semen, se emplearon cuatro tratamientos (diluyentes) (T1: Thilmant, T2: Westendorf modificado, T3: Trealosa con glicerol y T4: Trealosa sin glicerol), cada uno se subdividió en dos fracciones; A (diluyente de refrigeración) y B (diluyente de congelación).es_ES
