dc.descriptionCephalometry is a diagnostic method for understanding the relationship between craniofacial structures. To assist in dentofacial orthopedic treatments, orthodontics and orthognathic surgery, various standards have been established, which indicate correct proportions, facilitating the functionality of the stomatognathic appliance. T. Rakosi established normal values, used worldwide. In Mérida de Yucatán, the population presents an anthropometric typology different from that of Europe; but the treatments carried out refer to the Rakosi values. In order to know if these values are adequate, a sample of the population with full functionality was investigated.es_ES
dc.description.abstractLa cefalometría es un método de diagnóstico para conocer la relación entre las estructuras craneofaciales. Para ayudar en los tratamientos de ortopedia dentofacial, ortodoncia y cirugía ortognática, se han establecido diversos estándares, que señalan proporciones correctas, que facilitan la funcionalidad del aparato estomatognático. T. Rakosi estableció valores normales, usados mundialmente. En Mérida de Yucatán, la población presenta una tipología antropométrica distinta de la de Europa; pero los tratamientos que se realizan se refieren a los valores de Rakosi. Para conocer si dichos valores son adecuados, se investigó a una muestra de la población que presentaba funcionalidad completa.es_ES
