dc.descriptionThe objective of this study was to determine the in vitro antimicrobial effect of methanolic and aqueous extracts of Cnidoscolus chayamansa McVaugh leaves against the reference strain of Streptococcus mutans in order to propose low cost alternatives of natural origin that allow to decrease dental caries in high-risk populations. The design of the study was descriptive, prospective, longitudinal and experimental. The sample was the reference strain of Streptoccocus mutans (ATCC 25175). The variables studied are the growth of the reference strain of Streptoccocus mutans and the concentrations of the methanolic and aqueous extracts of Cnidoscolus chayamansa.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el efecto antimicrobiano in vitro de extractos metanólico y acuoso de hojas de Cnidoscolus chayamansa McVaugh contra la cepa de referencia de Streptococcus mutans con el fin de proponer alternativas de bajo costo y de origen natural que permitan disminuir la caries dental en poblaciones de alto riesgo. El diseño del estudio realizado fue de tipo descriptivo, prospectivo, longitudinal y experimental. La muestra fue la cepa de referencia de Streptoccocus mutans (ATCC 25175). Las variables estudiadas son el crecimiento de la cepa de referencia de Streptoccocus mutans y las concentraciones de los extractos metanólico y acuoso de Cnidoscolus chayamansa.es_ES
