Descripción : After my passage through TABAMEX and the State Government (COPLADENAY and Secretariat of Planning and Development) several decades ago, I have been arguing that Nayarit has to develop, although it is not true that it has everything; that their best capital is their natural resources and their environment, but that they are not the same as they were 50 years ago, because the lands have been impoverished and do not have the same fertility, the water in their rivers and streams is not the same neither in quantity nor quality, the climate is no longer predictable as before due to climate change, et cetera; human capital may be abundant, but not qualified or with the kind of qualification that a development pattern that would make us competitive would require; economic capital is weak in infrastructure and minimal to finance the investments that are required; and the social capital is very vitiated by political issues and by narcoviolence. These are some of the reasons that come to my mind after remembering my long and frequent conversations that I held for many years with Alejandro Gascón Mercado, who insisted on presenting me to Nayarit as a paradise, with Aután as the navel of the universe (our difference fundamental is that I told him that the navel was in Acaponeta). The truth is that if we do not have a good diagnosis of our reality, we can not apply the remedies or the cloths required to solve our problems.
