dc.descriptionS. schenckii is a dimorphic fungus that causes sporotrichosis usually by traumatic implantation in the skin and rarely by inhalation of spores that cause a lung infection. Sporotrichosis has different clinical forms, ranging from fixed skin to systemic infection. The latter occurs in immunosuppressed individuals, particularly those with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, in whom it is potentially fatal.es_ES
dc.description.abstractS. schenckii, es un hongo dimórfico que causa esporotricosis usualmente por implantación traumática en la piel y raramente por inhalación de esporas que causan una infección pulmonar. La esporotricosis presenta diferentes formas clínicas, que van de la cutánea fija a la infección sistémica. Esta última ocurre en individuos inmunodeprimidos, particularmente aquellos con síndrome de inmunodeficiencia adquirida, en quienes es potencialmente fatal.es_ES
