Resumen : El presente trabajo es parte de los resultados de una investigación realizada en la región costa sur de Nayarit, México, que muestra los efectos del turismo al ser tomado como eje central en la estrategia de desarrollo de esta entidad federativa y concretamente en la región mencionada, donde se instrumenta el proyecto de alcance internacional denominado “Riviera Nayarit”. Contempla tanto revisión teórica como empírica y arroja resultados que muestran las repercusiones de la actividad turística en la estructura económica de la región, señalando las transformaciones alcanzadas, que cuestionan la adopción del turismo como modelo sustantivo para la promoción del desarrollo de la sociedad. Se presenta un análisis histórico de la conformación de la costa sur de Nayarit como región turística.
Descripción : The present work is part of the results of an investigation carried out in the south coast region of Nayarit, Mexico, which shows the effects of tourism as it is taken as the central axis in the development strategy of this federative entity and specifically in the region mentioned, Where the international project called "Riviera Nayarit" is implemented. It contemplates both theoretical and empirical revision and shows results that show the repercussions of the tourist activity on the economic structure of the region, pointing out the transformations reached, that question the adoption of tourism as a substantive model for the promotion of the development of society. We present a historical analysis of the conformation of the southern coast of Nayarit as a tourist region.
