Resumen : Diazinón es un plaguicida organofosforado que ejerce efectos tóxicos sobre el sistema inmunológico. Sin embargo, el mecanismo de inmunotoxicidad aún no es claro. Se ha propuesto que la alteración en la respuesta inmunológica por diazinón podría atribuirse al sistema colinérgico no neuronal presente en las células del sistema inmunológico, sistema que hasta el momento ha sido descrito únicamente en modelos mamíferos y lineas celulares. Sin embargo, los peces al ser el primer grupo de vertebrados que desarrollaron mecanismos de inmunidad innata y adaptativa, representan un modelo potencial de estudio de los mecanismos de inmunoregulación y el daño potencial causado por contaminantes. El objetivo de este trabajo fue evaluar en tilapia nilótica(Oreochromis niloticus) la presencia del sistema colinérgico no neuronal en células del sistema inmunológico; así como el efecto de diazinón sobre el sistema colinérgico no neuronal linfocitario, como posible blanco en la inmunotoxicidad de diazinón.
Descripción : Diazinon is an organophosphorus pesticide that exerts toxic effects on the immune system. However, the mechanism of immunotoxicity is not yet clear. It has been proposed that the alteration in the immune response by diazinon could be attributed to the non-neuronal cholinergic system present in the cells of the immune system, a system that until now has been described only in mammalian models and cell lines. However, fish, being the first group of vertebrates that developed mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity, represent a potential model for studying the mechanisms of immunoregulation and the potential damage caused by contaminants. The objective of this work was to evaluate in nilotic tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) the presence of non-neuronal cholinergic system in cells of the immune system; as well as the effect of diazinon on the non-neuronal lymphocyte cholinergic system, as possible target in diazinon immunotoxicity.
